PRINCIPLES: Leadership has nothing materially to do with any position a person occupies, or the title used.

There are only three aspects that any organisation must get right.

Firstly, the vision stream(s) from the highest reaches of the business out to the customer(s).

Secondly, the chain(s) of trust back from the customer(s) to the highest reaches of the organisation.

Thirdly, continuous improvement across both the vision and trust flows.

These can be achieved only by effective action after appropriate planning and maximized usage of well-developed people skills.

Now some people, especially those with inflated egos often in professions, will want to argue that what "they do" is different from and more important than what "others do" in any organisation. The them/self boundry is challenging.

I'd suggest to you that you think about this idea. In anything being done in any type of organisation, there are "only two types" of things/activities being done/managed/led in that organisation.

  • Firstly, something NEW is being created, or
  • Secondly, something EXISTING is changed, modified, improved.

Now, even when either of those becomes operational in it new state, it ought to be managed/led on the basis of continuous improvement.

Some more table-of-content is provided below. Have a look and see if you think it might give you some thoughts about what you do/manage/lead in work, community and society generally.

You might also find value in exploring documents on the following tab. I'd also especially urge to view and consider the presentation by ex-USA Navy Captain David Marquet at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivwKQqf4ixA
